Obituary for Edwin Aron Peters

Edwin Aron  Peters
Edwin Aron Peters, age 68 years, beloved husband of Kathy, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Monday, January 7, 2019. Born on December 9, 1950 in Boissevain, Manitoba, Edwin and his five siblings grew up on a farm north of Boissevain. His education started in a one room schoolhouse, then Boissevain School followed by Winkler Bible Institute for two years where he met his sweetheart, Kathy Martens. Before the last year of his teaching degree, Edwin and Kathy were married July 21st, 1973. Edwin got a job at the high school in Killarney before moving to Sao Paulo, Brazil to teach at a private school for two years. When he and Kathy returned from Brazil, Edwin decided to change career and began farming with brother Richard and later, son Darren.

Edwin was interested in photography, travel, culture, woodworking, hiking, getting together with friends, regenerative agriculture, reading widely and leading spiritual discussions. During his summers, Edwin loved cycling and camping.

Predeceased by parents Aron and Elizabeth Peters, Edwin will be dearly missed by his wife Kathleen; children Shawna (Jonathan), Karis (Frank) and Darren (Whitney); grandchildren: Acacia, Sawyer, Everly, Caleb and Elliot; siblings: Vic, Alice, Dorothy, Richard, Barb. The Celebration of Edwin's Life was held at McDiarmid Drive Alliance Church on Saturday, January 12, 2019 with Pastor Kevin Ratzlaff as officiant. Edwin's body was laid to rest at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Flowers are gratefully declined, donations in memory of Edwin may be made to a charity of one's choice.
