On Wednesday, May 3, 2017, William "Bill" Edward White passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Born June 29, 1949, Bill grew up on the family farm just north of Forrest, Manitoba. He enjoyed spending summers at the family cottage at Minnedosa Lake. Bill worked for the Brandon Research Station for 40 years, within the swine, cattle and safety departments. After retiring, he enjoyed a few more years of work with J & G as a Safety Officer. Bill was inducted into the Manitoba Softball Hall of Fame in 2015 for his time and dedication as an umpire. When not working or umpiring, Bill spent his time volunteering in the community at many events that came to Brandon and Calgary. He enjoyed his time curling, golfing and lawn bowling with friends. Remaining to cherish Bill's memory are his children Brad (Sabrina McCorrister-White), Aaron and Jaime-Lynn (Stewart) Dyck; three caring step-children; six loving grandchildren and his brothers Ian (Petronila) and Doug. He was predeceased by his wife Colleen White, mother Florence White and father Ray White. The Celebration of Bill's Life took place at the Keystone Centre, MNP Hall on Monday, May 8, 2017 with Mr. Mike Waddell officiating. A private committal service followed at the Brandon Cemetery. Urn bearer was Brad White. Donations in memory of Bill may be made to the Ashley Neufeld Softball Complex, www.ashleyneufeldsoftballcomplex.com.
