She was born August 14, 1931 at Shaunavon, Saskatchewan. Maxine attended a one room school in the village of Aneroid for grades one to six, completing seven and eight in Shaunavon. Orphaned by the early age of 13, Maxine was put into foster care. During her young adult years while working in a cannery, laundry mat, and restaurant in Vancouver and surrounding area she met her future husband. When not at work Maxine enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Bowling League of the Brandon General Hospital, and the Lawn Bowling League of Brandon. A great one to volunteer, she offered her services to The Nearly New Shop, Red Cross and at the hospital information desk. Maxine was a recipient of the Mayor's Volunteer of the Year Award from the City of Brandon. Maxine will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Patricia Klym (Eric Becker), Gloria Kazakoff (Robert), Violet Cutforth (Daniel), Lynn Klym Mills (Drew), many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Alice and Fenton Parker; brothers Sherwin Lyle and Orland; son Robert Klym; ex-husband John Klym and granddaughter Zanovia Strykiwsky.
