First House Party


I remember attending my first house party (pop and chips), it was at Bambi's parents house in 1974, just a bunch of school kids gettin' together. Elton John had just released Bennie and the Jets! Bambi had the record and we all played it and sang to it at the top of our lungs. Someone started singing "B B B B Bambi and the Jetsssss" instead of Bennie. That became the "new" lyrics to that song forever after and even though Bambi and I never saw each other after our 2 shared years of school I still to this day sing it the old way and recall her fondly when I do. RIP Bambi.
