Obituary for Anne Golletz

Anne Golletz
It is with great sadness that the family of Anne (Yarchuk) Golletz, shares the news of her peaceful passing on Saturday, January 5, 2019. Anne was born on June 21, 1937, the third child of five children, near Hamiota/Oak River where her father and mother Joe and Nellie (Sawchuk) Yarchuk were farming. The family moved to the farm in the Shoal Lake district in 1943, where Anne grew up and attended school. She continued her education at the Marvel Cosmetology College in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She married Carl Golletz on October 25th, 1955 and they moved to Brandon for employment and to be closer to the family. Carl and Anne raised four children Leonard, Richard (Keay), Melody (Barry), and Barry (Jean). She also leaves to mourn her loss, her daughter-in-law Barb Nieradka, four grandchildren: Mitchel, Jennifer, Nicole and Jordyn and great-granddaughter Aria and nieces and nephews. Anne is also survived by her sister Mary (Yarchuk) Gushue and brother Jerry (Charlene) Yarchuk. She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Matt (Betty) Yarchuk and Mike (Marge) Yarchuk. Anne had many passions. She loved to garden, can fruit and vegetables, cook for large family gatherings, paint, ceramics, knit, sew and decorate. She took great pride in making and teaching all the Ukrainian food traditions. Anne ran her hair salon for fifteen years, then four years as a real estate agent and helped with the family concrete business. When Anne and Carl lived on an acreage, Anne would plant and nurture hundreds of bedding plants every year which were grown from scratch in her greenhouse. Carl and Anne enjoyed participating in the Best Rural Yard Competition, in which they won on a number of occasions. Anne also provided the greater family a monumental keepsake, by documenting the Sawchuk family history into a book format. Anne will be remembered by family and friends who she would always lend a helping hand too. In Anne’s later years she endured a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. We thank the many family, friends and caregivers who helped her through her challenges. Special thanks to Rideau Park, Dallas Green and Memories Chapel. A private Celebration of Anne’s Life was held at Memories Chapel. Donations in memory of Anne may be made to the MS Society, Unit 5B - 457 - 9th Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 1K2.
