Obituary for Lanny Laverne Packard

Lanny Laverne  Packard
Lanny Laverne passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday, November 30, 2018 at the age of 69 years. Lanny was born in Gainsborough, Saskatchewan on June 3, 1949. He attended school at Alexandra, McLaren and Neelin. After graduating, Lanny worked with Star Flooring, the Brandon School Division and CFB Shilo. When Lanny retired in 2004, he set his sights on a lifetime dream; a HOT ROD! Within the next few years his pride and joy was ready to hit the road. Lanny is survived by his wife Regina, daughters Shelby (Mark) Turman, Kerri (Scott) Sanders, grandchildren Greyson, Avery, Arie and Colson, sisters Mavis Pangman, Darcy (David) Ross, sister-in-law Dallas (Eric) Schindler, brothers-in-law Barry Fleming and Sheldon (Caroline) Fleming, as well as many nieces and nephews. Lanny was predeceased by his parents Jim and Frances Packard, brother Harvey, brother-in-law Murray and nephew Andrew. A Celebration of Lanny's Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lanny may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, #3-2340 Victoria Avenue, Brandon, MB R7B 0M5. Lanny's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Bergen Cardiac Care Clinic at St. Boniface Hospital, as well as the staff at the Brandon Regional Health Centre with a special thanks to Dr. Butler.
