Obituary for Earl Fry

Earl Fry
It is with great sorrow that the family of Charles Earl announces his sudden passing on Friday, November 9, 2018 at the age of 80 years at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Earl was born on February 8, 1938 at Rossland, B.C. and at an early age his family moved to Manitoba where he received his education in Minnedosa and Brandon. Earl loved to drive big vehicles and he drove semis and gravel trucks for various companies. Earl met his wife, Dale in 1958 and they were married in 1959. Their union produced 2 beautiful children Pearl and Charles. While driving for one company, Earl was hired by the Department of Highways where he worked for 36 years driving gravel truck, operating the grater, and finally working as sub foreman before his early retirement. Earl developed a love for camping, so on weekends and holidays, Earl and Dale would travel across Canada and the United States, visiting friends and family. Once Dale retired, they became seasonal campers, enjoying campfires, playing cards and going for walks with other campers. There was always room for family and friends who loved to camp out with them on weekends and holidays. During the winter months you could find Earl having tea with his co-workers and friends at McDonalds; those were very special days for Earl. On weekends, Earl and Dale would go to the Army and Navy Club, where he was an active member for quite a few years. There he enjoyed a beer or two with family and friends. He also spent his time trying to win Chase the Ace, and playing the odd game of Bingo, where he would tease the ladies. Earl loved to joke and always had a smile for everyone. Earl loved life and he will always be in our hearts. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Dale of 59 years, daughter Pearl (Larry), granddaughters Ashley (Kevin) and Allison (James) and his precious great granddaughter Aurora. Earl was predeceased by his son Charles "Butch" and brother Harold. The Graveside Service celebrating Earl's life will be held at Rosewood Memorial Gardens on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a reception at A.N.A.F, 31-14th Street, Brandon. Donations in memory of Earl may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 1379 Kenaston Boulevard, Winnipeg, MB R3P 2T5.
