DAVID ‘RAYMOND’ BROWN

David Raymond Brown, husband of Doreen Brown and father to Darla (Smith) passed away into the presence of the Lord on September 12th, 2018 at the age of 89.

Ray was born in Virden on July 22, 1929 to parents Cecil and Rosie Brown. At the age of eight years old he contracted polio but this did not hinder him from living a full and productive life. He graduated from Brandon College in 1951 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Math and Science and went on to complete Teachers Training in Winnipeg in 1957. He returned to Brandon and taught at Brandon College and from there became the principal of a variety of schools in Manitoba and Alberta. In later years he taught Distance Education based in the Brandon Provincial Building & from his home until his retirement in 2004.

Ray will be missed greatly by his wife Doreen, daughter Darla (Eugene Smith), grandsons Jeremy and Jesse (Crystal) and his three great grandchildren, Isaiah, Micah and Aliyah. Ray was predeceased by his parents and brothers Orville, Gary and Kenny. He is survived by his brother Donny and his sister Marie. He will be missed by all of the extended family this represents.

A ‘Celebration’ of Ray’s life will take place on December 6th, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Bethel Christian Assembly in Brandon.
