Obituary for William Roger "Bill" Hiebert

William Roger "Bill" Hiebert
William (Bill) Roger Hiebert of Brandon, Manitoba, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the age of 57. He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba June 22, 1961. From childhood, when Bill made friends, it was for life. He moved to Brandon and attended Crocus Plains Secondary School, studied mechanics, then went on to work at Arnold Brothers. Bill then moved to Moose Jaw to work with his Dad, at their Firestone franchise. In the late 80s Bill started his life's work as long haul trucker for Paul's Hauling. He enjoyed fishing, and nothing was more important to Bill than time with family, relatives and friends. He was always cheerful, and loved to tell a story or joke. Bill and Barbara Thiel had been friends since the late 70s, and their relationship grew. It was only natural that they would become a couple in 2001, and raised their only child, Lisa, together. Bill will be mourned by his spouse Barbara Thiel, stepdaughter Lisa Thiel, his mother Rose Hiebert, sister Phyllis (Dean) Ramsden, brother Paul Hiebert, brother-in-law Steven Peters, sisters-in-law Tracy Peters, and Diane Cantelo, and nephews, Nick (Amie) Slota, Graham and Scott Ramsden, great-nephews Julian and Jonah Slota. He was predeceased by his Dad, William Hiebert Sr. A Reception will be held at the Victoria Inn, Grand Salon, 3550 Victoria Avenue, on Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. with a time of reflection at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you extend a random act of kindness in honour of Bill's memory, or a donation to a charity of choice.
