Obituary for Verna Gloria Hobbs

Verna Gloria Hobbs
With family by her side, Verna Gloria Hobbs, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Sunday, March 4, 2018. Born May 8, 1945 in Corner Brook, NL, Verna grew up in the small logging community of Gallants, NL, with her parents and brother Tom. She attended Holy Trinity School. Family was especially important to Verna, being a devoted mother and adoring grandmother to her grand and great-grandchildren. During her spare time Verna loved knitting, reading and was an avid crossword puzzler. Later in life Verna was a housekeeper for dear friends Jim and Irene Crang at their motel. Verna will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Verna (Dwayne), Kim (Murdock); son Cyril; step-daughter Bev (Ted); grandchildren Davin, Terry Lynn (Glen), Riley, Robyn (Daniel), Reagan (Sam), Michala, Matthew (Caitlin) and Julia; and great-grandchildren Andre, Jazzlyn, Jasper, Zoey and Jesse. She was predeceased by her parents Tom and Blanche Collier, husband Harry Hobbs and brother Tom Collier. Verna was laid to rest in a private ceremony at the Brandon Cemetery. The Celebration of Verna's Life took place on Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Sprucewoods Community Hall, 5 Woods Avenue, Sprucewoods, Manitoba. Donations in memory of Verna may be made to a charity of choice.
