Norman Graham died peacefully in Brandon, Manitoba on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the age of 86 years. Norm is survived by his former wife, Irene; children, Todd (Stephanie), Tracy (Larry) & Trent (Joanne); grandchildren, McMillan, Madison, Tyson (Kali), Karson, Matthew & Ashley; great-grandchild, Jack; sister, Ethel; & many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert & Mary Graham. Norm was born & raised in Windsor, Ontario. He attended Windsor Business College & then went on to attend the Walsh Institute of Accounting in Detroit, Michigan. He entered the workforce at Essex Wire Corporation in Detroit in the Accounting Department, later moving on to Girdler Corp. in Chatham, Ontario. Norm then returned to Windsor taking on a position with Willy’s of Canada, later transferring to Winnipeg as Regional Sales Manager. Norm eventually moved on to Firestone in Winnipeg, Brandon & Dauphin. He then took a position as credit manager with Murdoch Chev-olds in Dauphin before returning to sales with Allied Farm Equipment, Bush Hog, & Laurier Mfg. Norm loved sales; one of his favorite sayings was “Hell of a Deal!!” An accomplished cook, Norm was known for his hospitality and sharing of his cooking and baking with friends and neighbors. In his later years, he spent time managing Camp Manitou in Riding Mountain National Park as well as at some northern fishing lodges. In 1993, Norm returned to Brandon where he volunteered at many organizations, such as Helping Hands, Samaritan House, Westman Traditional Christmas Dinner, the Brandon Police Service and many others. Norm loved to walk so he delivered papers for the Brandon Sun for several years. He always stayed on top of the news, was forever calling CBC radio to give his point of view or writing a letter to the Brandon Sun voicing his opinion…he probably should have been a journalist! In keeping with Norm’s wishes, there will be no funeral service; a private family gathering will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the 1st floor staff at the Fairview Personal Care home for the wonderful care Dad received. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to a charity of your choice.
