Obituary for Tara Ann Roe (Smith)

Tara Ann Roe (Smith)
ROE: Tara Ann (nee Smith).
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the tragic death of Tara in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 1, 2017. Tara was born September 1, 1983 at the Brandon General Hospital, to parents Mark and Brenda Smith. Her husband Zach will forever cherish her memory as the wonderful mother of their two sons, Louis and Lennon. She will be lovingly remembered by her older sister Tami (Taso) Spiropoulos and her nephew Andreus and niece Maria. Also mourning her loss are her grandmother Irene Wotton; uncle DuWayne; aunt Karen Sobchuk; uncle Brian, and aunt Val (Dan) Rodgers; her cousins and their children, Lynne Wotton (Julian, Bella and Thomas), Audrey Wotton, Jennifer Shurb (Scott, Sean), Cory Sobchuk (Marlee, Myles), Nicole and Janelle Wotton; mother-in-law Angie (Tim) Myers of Calgary and father-in-law Joseph Roe of Regina and their families. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Norman and Pat Smith and Ralph Wotton. Tara attended Kirkcaldy Heights School and Crocus Plains High School. Through these years she enjoyed skating, dancing, school sports, band and spending time with family and her very large circle of friends. The circle has now spanned thirty years with some of these amazing friendships. Tara completed the Para-Educator course offered through the Red River Community College in 2005. It was that year she moved to Calgary and went to work at Janus Academy, a specialized school for children with autism. It was there she knew she had found her calling. She continued with further education with courses at Mount Royal College in Calgary. At the time of her death she was employed with the Foothills School Division. Tara had a lot of fun with modeling for Sophia Models International. It was in 2007 that Tara met Zach and they were married in 2009. They settled in their new home in Okotoks, Alberta, welcoming their sons Louis in 2010 and Lennon in 2012. As a young family they enjoyed boating, hiking, biking, and camping in the Rockies. Her favourite place to be was at the family cabin at Clear Lake. She was keen to share her love of Mother Nature with her sons. Tara always wanted to help others, had compassion, and a kind heart. Tara was active as the team manager for Louis' hockey and lacrosse team. She was always the Number 1 fan for her sons in all of their activities. The family were supporters of Okotoks Oilers Junior A hockey team and the Dawgs' baseball team. The Celebration of Tara's life was held on Friday, October 13, 2017 at the Victoria Inn, Brandon. A private interment has taken place at the Brandon Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Tara may be made through the gofundme.com website, please search "Zach and the Kids" or to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, 205 Horton St E, Suite 203, London, ON N6B 1K7, www.braintumour.ca.

Tara was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and friend and will never be forgotten.
