Obituary for Sherman Myrah

Sherman Myrah
The death of Sherman Myrah occurred on Thursday, July 6th, 2017 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. It was the day of Mom and Dad’s 60th Anniversary. Sherman was born on a farm in Saskatchewan, March 25th, 1929 and weighed just 4 pounds. At age 6, he contracted pneumonia and had to re-learn how to walk. He was a survivor! He always claimed he wasn’t too smart in school but was able to teach himself many skills. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do. Sherman had many jobs throughout his early years but the one he wanted most was to be a farmer. He made that happen in 1974 and finally quit his day job to farm full time in 1980. Retiring from farming was not as easy and it took a few years to finally give it up. Sherman is survived by son Brett (Barb), grandchildren Kristin and Brittany; daughter Sheri Kuipers, grandchildren Sherallyn Robertson (Dan), Missie MacLean, Sammi Brand (Harry) and Ben; daughter Lorinda Myrah (Al), grandchildren Danny and Eric Hysop; daughter Penny Myrah (Wayne), grandchildren Dirk Michaluk (Nicole), Dillon Michaluk (Megan) and Darby Nolan (Brent); brother Dale (Joan), sixteen great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and special niece Phyllis Lightfoot. He was predeceased by his wife Irene, granddaughter Lainey Kuipers, parents Fred and Lynn Myrah, and sister Shirley Glaze. A private family service has taken place. Donations in memory of Sherman may be made to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation for Palliative Care or for BRHC Cancer Services, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 2B3.
