Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Merl Scott can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Merl Nancy  Scott
On Thursday, June 8, 2017, Merl Nancy Scott, age 87 years, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Merl was born and raised in the MacGregor area. In 1952, Merl, Art and baby Robert moved into Douglas, Manitoba where she lived until 4 weeks before her passing. Remaining to cherish Merl's memory are her children Robert, Earl (Myrna), Jeanette Renton (Tom), Jean Marchand (Paul), and Joan Donogh (Robert); eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; siblings Perry Stirling (Gloria), Velma Mullen; sisters-in-law Emily Stirling, Milldren Cairns and Marge Lee and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Orvil in infancy; grandchildren Melissa, Billy and Deborah; great-granddaughter Aurelia; her parents John and Mary Stirling; brother Robert; sister Christina Horton; the father of her children William A. Scott and brother-in-law Ralph Mullen. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation at Memories Chapel, 330 18th Street North, on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Celebration of Merl's Life will take place at Memories Chapel on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow. Lydia Glawson will officiate. Merl will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at the Madford Cemetery. Donations in memory of Merl may be made to a charity of choice.
