Loving and beloved husband of Erma, Charles Cox passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 4, 2017 in Brandon, Manitoba. Charlie will be remembered for his loving support, gentle guidance, his engaging wit and wonderful sense of humour by many friends, his wife Erma; daughter Kathryn and Brian Kelm, children Christopher, Richard and Mark; son David Cox, children Alisa and Andrea and their mother Lorena Angulo; son Robert Cox and Lina Zitella, children Emily and David. Charlie was born in Buffalo, New York in 1929 and grew up in St. Thomas, Ontario. He met his life partner in St. Thomas, and he and Erma were married in 1951. Charlie joined Huron and Erie Canada Trust as a junior clerk in 1947 and retired as manager of the Brandon branch in 1997. After Charlie retired, he and Erma enjoyed spending winters in Florida and summers at their cottage in Clear Lake, Riding Mountain National Park. Charlie was a member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church and raised his voice with joy in the church choir. The Service of Remembrance took place at St. Mary’s Anglican Church on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend John Dolloff officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to St. Mary’s Anglican Church (401 1st St. Brandon, MB R7A 2W8) or the charity of your choice.
