Obituary for Alexander "Gordon" Pearce

Alexander "Gordon"  Pearce
PEARCE: Alexander Gordon, January 11, 1939 – February 7, 2017;
Gordon was born second oldest to Tom and Jean Pearce in Moline, Manitoba. He grew up in the Brandon area with his parents and siblings. As a young man Gordon worked as farm help for Hughie Rice; he then worked for Manitoba Hydro for 9 years and for Burn’s Meats for 27 years. He met Margaret Birch, and they married in 1960. Gordon and Margaret had three daughters, and he raised his family on a farm in Rapid City. They were very involved in the small community and made a lot of friendships which they still cherish today. Gordon’s proudest accomplishment was his family, while he supported everything his girls were involved in. His family grew as he welcomed son-in-laws, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved when all the family got together for BBQ’s, birthdays or just because. He spent many weekends camping with family and friends. Gord is survived by his wife Margaret of 56 years, daughter Terry (Albert) Bruun, Tracey (Ron) Heap, Tanis (Brad) Dixon; grandchildren Jordan (Amanda), Geoff, Jarred (Rachel), Tyrel, Makayla, Britney (Jeremy), Jensen (Bryce) and Kara; great-grandchildren Xander, Zain and Peighton; brothers Allan (Gladys), Ed (Sigrid), Barry (Marie) and Ken (Anita) Pearce and sisters-in-law Madeline Bishop and Judy (Jim) Lobban. He was pre-deceased by his parents Tom and Jean Pearce, brother Doug Pearce, sister Evelyn Elder, brother in law George Bishop and sisters-in-law Phyllis Vidomski and Elizabeth Birch. A celebration of Gordon’s life was held on Monday February 13, 2017 which included a family graveside service, and come and go celebration at the Victoria Inn. Donations in memory of Gordon may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, PO Box 20077, Brandon South Post Office, Brandon, MB R7A 6Y8, in honour of his two grandchildren. Margaret and family would like to thank everyone for all the support, kind thoughts, condolences, flowers, cards and food. The support through this journey has been greatly appreciated.
