Obituary for Adene "Dee Dee" Anstett (Nordquist)

Adene "Dee Dee" Anstett (Nordquist)
ANSTETT (Nordquist): On Sunday, February 21, 2016, Adene "Dee Dee" Anstett passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Dee Dee was born May 21, 1955, and raised in Brandon. A very special aunt to her nephews and nieces, she always had special treats and enjoyed taking them on adventures. An avid animal lover, Dee Dee donated food to the Brandon Humane Society on a regular basis. She was an Elvis Fan, loved to dance, and was very light on her feet. Dee Dee could start up a conversation with anyone and make them feel comfortable. Her smile and laugh was contagious. While working at McKenzie Seeds, Dee Dee was a machine operator, then a Shop Steward for many years. When not at work, she played broomball, was an amazing pitcher, dedicated team member and broke many records in baseball. Known for being a great cook, everyone looked forward to going to her place to eat, and there was always lots of food. She loved spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed camping and picnics in the park. Dee Dee will be lovingly remembered by her siblings: Larry (Sharon) Nordquist, Blair (Heather) Nordquist, Trevor Nordquist; sister-in-law Patty Nordquist; nieces and nephews: Jeff (wife Alannah, and their children Bailey, Owen and Emily), Greg (children Payton and Malin), Dale (Corrine Anderson), Olivia (husband Andy Neufeld and children Lyle Nordquist and Lucy Neufeld), Dixie, Diane (Derek Jahns, Shea), Bradi, Kelsey (Scott Dreger), Jasmine Nordquist (Chris Bowman and children, Isabella, Lyvia and Alexandra); and good friends Dianne LeClerc and Marie Fitzpatrick. She was predeceased by her brother Danny; father Edwin Nordquist and mother Audrey Anstett. The Ceremony to Celebrate Dee Dee's Life took place at Memories Chapel on Friday, February 26, 2016 with Arlene Robertson officiating. Urn bearers were Dixie Nordquist and Jasmine Nordquist. Interment was in the family plot at the Brandon Cemetery. Donations in memory of Dee Dee may be made to the Brandon Humane Society, 2200 17th Street East, Brandon, MB R7A 7M6.
