ANDERSON: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Mildred Ann. She died peacefully with family by her side at Riverdale Palliative Care in Rivers, MB on Monday, June 29, 2015. Predeceased by: her husband Gordon "Andy" - married for 44 years; brother Paul Mamalyga; mother Mary "Molly" Kiez and father John Mamalyga. Mildred is survived by her daughters Susan Scarrow and Theresa Dalgleish; grandsons Brandon and Bradley Scarrow and her brother Terry Mamalyga. Her love for her family was unwavering. She adored her grandsons and cherished her visits to Calgary and time spent with family and friends. She was a devoted daughter, spending many hours visiting and volunteering at the Rivers Personal Care Home, where her mother resided for over 15 years. Mildred was born November 18, 1943 in Russell, MB. She spent her childhood years in Rossburn and moved to Rivers during her high school years. She met her future husband on a military bus that she rode to Brandon taking business classes at the Assiniboine Community College. They were married in 1966 and after living in Calgary for a few years returned to Rivers in 1973 to raise their family. Mildred was a proud homemaker and mother. She enjoyed gardening, canning and was a very active member in the Ukrainian Society of Rivers. During her leisure time, she enjoyed playing cards with friends, attending BINGO, and tending to her flowers. The Funeral Ceremony took place at Memories Chapel on Saturday, July 4, 2015 with Very Rev. Fr. Michael Skrumeda officiating. A reception followed at Memories Chapel. Interment was in the Rivers Cemetery on Monday, July 6, 2015. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Mildred may be made to Riverdale Palliative Care, P.O Box 428, Rivers, Manitoba R0K 1X0. The family would like to extend gratitude to all the doctors, nurses, staff and volunteers at Riverdale Palliative Care. You truly are angels that guided us through this difficult journey. Mildred will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her but will forever be in our hearts.
